Flip the “Be Marlboro” Campaign Upside Down: Enter our Brand Jamming Contest!
Do you find these “Be Marlboro” ads as dangerous and ridiculous as we do? Channel your creative outrage and let’s take Marlboro’s absurd ad campaign to its logical conclusion.
We’ve tried our hand at a couple of examples below. Think you can do better? Design your own brand jamming ad, illness possibly win a prize, and strike a blow against Marlboro.
How To Enter
The deadline to enter this contest has passed. Stay tuned for the winning entry to be announced.
1.) Print ad entries need to be in a JPG, GIF, or PDF format, 72dpi resolution, and either in 960 px x 640 px (landscape or portrait) or 960 x 960 (square). The file size should not be larger than 3 MB. We will ask you to attach this file to your entry email along with the entry form.
2.) Video ad entries cannot be longer than 1 minute. Please upload them to your own YouTube or Vimeo.com account. You’ll be asked to provide the URL to your video with the entry form. If we choose to feature your video as one of our finalists, we may ask you to provide us with an MPEG or MOV file.
Submissions will be accepted beginning on April 16, 2014 at 9:00 am Eastern Daylight Time and ending on May 30, 2014 at 5:00 pm Eastern Daylight Time.
Only winners will be notified of the contest outcome, but you can view a list of the winners, which will be posted online at www.marlboroexposed.com by June 11, 2014, at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time, and will remain posted until at least September 30, 2014, at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time.
Judging will be performed by a panel of Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids employees. Judges will make their selections based on subject matter, messaging, impact, composition, and uniqueness. All voting decisions are final and at the discretion of CTFK.
The best video submission winner will receive $500 USD. The best image submission winner will receive $500 USD.
